Asafoetida (Hing) is the dried latex extruded from the rhizome or tap root of several species of Ferula. Has a pungent, unpleasant (sulfurous) smell when raw but in cooked dishes, it delivers a smooth flavor.
Ingredients: Rice Flour (60%), Asafoetida (15%), Gum Arabic,Turmeric as coloring agent.
Suggested Usage: Add a few pinches, usually in hot oil before using. Used in many vegetarian and lentil dishes to add both flavor and aroma, as well as to reduce flatulence.
